Historic Stirling is Scotland’s newest city and its heritage capital. Stirling is the ideal base from which to explore nearby Loch Lomond, The Trossachs National Park and the many towns and villages dotted around the peaceful slopes of the Campsies and the rolling farmlands of Strathallan. 14th - 19th May, Stirling:

It’s Hogmanay in a Glasgow wash house and the girls need to get their washing done before the bells.

Year-round, Stirling area:

Completed in 1869 and standing 220 feet high, the Wallace Monument is situated on the top of Abbey Craig, overlooking the river Forth and the Forth Valley.

Year-round, Stirling:

The Stirling Smith first opened to the public in August 1874, and has served the area for over 130 years.

8th July 2012, Stirling:

Enjoy the colour, culture and traditional spectacle of Stirling’s famous Highland Games.

14th July 2012, Stirling area:

The highlight of the summer’s events in the county of Clackmannanshire, the games feature the full range of traditional events, including athletics, cycling, highland dancing, heavy weight events and - the crowning glory of games day - the four hill races run over Torry.

5th August 2012, Stirling Area:

Bridge of Allan is one of Scotland’s premier Highland Games attracting crowds of between 10,000 and 15,000.

24th - 26th August 2012, Stirlingshire:

A not-for-profit festival, money raised from Doune the Rabbit Hole events go towards funding new workshops and classes which will teach young, disadvantaged people how to play an instument, write, paint or do anything creative really.

Year-round, Argyll:

From a distance you can make out the perfectly formed domes of peat as they rise gently from their surroundings.

Year-round, Stirling:

Situated on a volcanic outcrop guarding the lowest crossing point of the River Forth, Stirling Castle is visible for miles around.

Year-round, Stirling:

The Regimental Museum is situated within the Regimental HQ at Stirling Castle.
