Festivals in Scotland

When summer comes, Scotland comes alive with a string of festivals to suit all tastes. Reflecting the active lifestyles and wide-ranging interests of the 21st century, today’s festivals cover a mix of activities. If music is your scene, you can experience the very best in live performances from the cream of international rock, folk, pop, classical and jazz artists. Be there or be square.

18th February - 1st March 2015, Glasgow:

Taking place in a wide range of locations across the city, the Festival presents a unique programme of feature films, shorts, special events and live and interactive happenings.

12th - 29th March 2015, Glasgow:

The Glasgow International Comedy Festival returns with some of its favourite comedy friends, top television names and spectacular stand-up stars.

4th - 12th April 2015, Fife:

On The Rocks is an entirely student-run arts festival incorporating art, photography, film, theatre, dance, fashion, music and comedy.

27th April - 17th May 2015, Colonsay:

The festival provide ample opportunities to learn more about the secret lives of Colonsay’s Seabirds, the RSPB reserve on Oronsay, the island’s diverse flora & fauna plus the chance to visit some of the less well-known areas of the island.

22nd - 24th May 2015, Banffshire:

COAST Festival of the Arts is an annual weekend of events that takes place in the beautiful Banffshire Coast towns of Banff & Macduff.

29th - 31st May 2014, Aberdeenshire:

The May Festival offers a range of events, featuring music, film, science, Gaelic, literature and more.

22nd - 31st May 2015, Dumfries & Galloway:

Celebrating artistic talents in all their forms, the festival features a wide range of events involving music, dance, drama and literature, as well as visual art and film.

21st - 31st May 2015, Perth:

Perth Festival of the Arts is one if the highlights of the cultural calendar in Scotland and takes place in Perth Concert Hall and St John’s Kirk.

30th May - 7th June 2015, East Lothian:

The three har­bours of Pre­ston­pans, Cocken­zie and Port Seton pro­vide the perfect set­ting for this unique fes­ti­val show­ing arts in unusual spaces.

19th - 24th June 2015, Orkney:

St Magnus International Festival is Orkney’s midsummer celebration of the arts.
