You can get to the Isle of Arran by ferry from Ardrossan. Known as Scotland in miniature, this is a fascinating and surprising island, with many landscapes expressing everything you will see elsewhere in Scotland. A small, unspoilt place, Arran is big enough to offer a bewildering variety of activities but has managed to retain its intimate island atmosphere.
