what’s on South Ayrshire

Outstanding sport and recreational facilities make South Ayrshire ideal for your family holiday. Ayr is one of Britain’s premier coastal resorts and Troon, with its award-winning beach overlooking the Isle of Arran, is also a popular holiday destination. Golf is a major attraction, particularly around Troon, and Ayr Racecourse offers more racing days than any other Scottish course. This coastal location provides plenty of opportunities to take to the water for fun. Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns, was born in Alloway, a village close to Ayr.
