Year-round, Inverness-shire:
Commanding splendid views of Loch Ness and the Great Glen, Urquhart Castle was once one of Scotland’s largest castles and its ruins still remains an impressive sight. The on-site visitor centre tells the story of the castle’s 500-year, somewhat bloody, history and displays an outstanding array of medieval artefacts found at the castle. A cafe and shop are also included in the facilities.
