what’s on Renfrewshire

Renfrewshire has a long and distinctive history, with Paisley its most important town. Paisley’s medieval abbey is a major attraction and the Shawl Gallery, in the town’s Museum and Art Gallery, traces the origins and development of the famous Paisley pattern and shawls. The area is also blessed with many excellent green spaces. At Muirshiel Country Park at Lochwinnoch over 108 square miles offers all kinds of land- and water-based activities, including nature trails and an RSPB centre. Other visitor attractions include Rouken Glen and Eastwood Park at Giffnock.
